Mushrooms for Golfers
Functional Mushrooms for Golf
Whether you’re a weekend golfer, a club player, or an elite professional, all golfers share a common goal: improvement. Each player is on a journey, whether it’s toward winning a club competition or building a career on tour.
What are Functional Mushrooms?
Functional Mushrooms are one of 3 types of Mushroom:
Gourmet mushrooms
Are commonly consumed in meals. Varieties like chanterelles or button mushrooms can be found at supermarkets or enjoyed as part of a Sunday breakfast.
Psychedelic mushrooms
(Or “magic mushrooms”) contain psilocybin, a compound with potential mental health benefits. Although promising, research is in its early stages, and psilocybin remains a Class A substance in the UK.
Functional mushrooms
Are less commonly used in cooking but offer various health benefits that can enhance life—and performance on the golf course.
Key Functional Mushroom Strains for Golf
We’ve formulated two new capsules with essential mushroom strains like Lion’s Mane, Reishi, and Cordyceps to support golfers in their pursuit of lower scores through improved health and performance.
Lions Mane
This functional mushroom enhances cognitive function, aiding focus and strategic thinking on the course. It also promotes productive recovery, particularly in deeper REM sleep cycles.
Cordyceps
Often referred to as the “athlete’s mushroom,” Cordyceps supports oxygen intake and energy levels, benefiting overall stamina and endurance.
Reishi
Known as the “queen of mushrooms,” Reishi soothes the nervous system, promoting relaxation and resilience—qualities essential for managing the challenges across 18 holes. Additionally, Reishi combats inflammation and supports immune health.
Ashwaghanda
Whether on the course or in practice, Ashwagandha enhances physical performance, improving muscle strength, endurance, and recovery. For players who train or play frequently, its adaptogenic properties help manage physical stress, shorten recovery time, and support peak performance.
Mugwort
Mugwort offers benefits that include stress reduction, relief from muscle aches, enhanced energy, and improved sleep. Essential for a healthy body, it also promotes blood circulation, alleviates headaches, supports liver health, and aids digestion.
Poria
Unlike fruiting mushrooms, Poria Sclerotia functions more like a nutrient-rich truffle, storing energy and benefits underground until ready. Anti-inflammatory and fatigue-fighting, it’s a powerful addition to any serious golfer’s diet.
