CBD stands for Cannabidiol
Most people have heard about the health benefits of CBD — its effects on stress-response, inflammation, pain, mood, and more — but science is still making sense of how and why CBD works and it’s an effect on the Endocannabinoid System.
Cannabinoid receptors (CB receptors)
The human body is teeming with cannabinoid receptors. Our body manufactures endocannabinoids in order to pass messages concerning functions such as pain, inflammation, memory, sensation, and mood.
We have CB receptors throughout our bodies, guarding a wide variety of responses. Different receptors are sensitive to different types of endocannabinoids. The two main receptors of the endocannabinoid system are CB1 and CB2.
