CATRIONA MATTHEW OBE

Golfer’s CBD Ambassador and Product Development Advisor

Golfer’s CBD is delighted to welcome Catriona Matthew OBE to the team. Catriona’s valuable insight and experience has provided some vital feedback on product development since the summer of 2020.

She said: “It’s very exciting. Since I started using Golfer’s CBD, it’s been very beneficial for me in terms of fitness and recovery and there are the mental benefits too. It’s something I will definitely use going forward in tournaments.

“There have been instances in the past when I’ve been nervous over a putt and not put my best stroke on it or not been able to control those nerves in a particular moment. These products will help.

“You sometimes think back to those occasions where having that extra bit of control over those nerves on a shot here or a shot there might have made a big difference.

“Anyone at the top level of sport will tell you that they do feel that anxiety and nerves in certain situations. The ones who do the best are the ones who cope with it the best.

“So much of golf is between the ears and it doesn’t matter what level you are playing at. You could be feeling nervous in your monthly medal or you have a putt to break 90 for the first time. I think this can definitely help.”

Catriona is an honorary member of the Royal & Ancient golf club of St. Andrews and has been appointed an MBE in the 2010 New Year Honours list and an OBE in the 2020 New year Honours list, for services to golf.

More about Catriona

Catriona won the RICOH Women’s British Open in 2009 just 11 weeks after giving birth to her second daughter.
In 2017 she was invited by Annika Sorenstam to be a Vice Captain for Europe in the Solheim Cup. Because of an injury, Catriona ended up playing and won 3 points out of a possible 4. Shortly after, she was appointed to take over Annika’s role as European Team Captain for the 2019 Solheim Cup and led the team to a dramatic 14.5 – 13.5 victory at Gleneagles and will be captain again for the 2021 showdown at Inverness Club in Ohio.

We are very grateful to Catriona for agreeing to be an ambassador for Golfer’s CBD and our senior product development advisor in 2021. Input from elite level players is our most valuable asset as we continually strive to improve our formulations to help golfers of all abilities.
